No wheat or flour crisis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Food Qalandar Lohdi has said that sufficient stock of wheat is available and there is no flour shortage in the province. He said the increase of Rs 20 per bag in the price of flour is due to transportation charges.
Talking to different delegations in Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Thursday, he said presently three different varieties of flour including local, Punjab and fine varieties are available in the local market. He said the price of fine flour is little higher, but is use is also lesser than other varieties.
He said the price of 20-kilogram bag of Punjab’s flour in Rawalpindi was Rs 770 to Rs 780 while in Peshawar it is being sold at Rs 790 to Rs 800 per bag. He said the difference of Rs 20 per bag is due to transportation charges. He said that Passco has started supply wheat to KP.
He made it clear that neither there is any wheat shortage nor any such chance of crisis in future. The prices, he said had increased according to market mechanism and the provincial government has taken effective measures for its prevention.
He said the process of conducting raids on profiteers is continue under which action has been taken against a large number of hoarders and profiteers.
