Pakistan – Government help for cattle farmers
Punjab government has announced to extend financial assistance for improvement in the supply chain management, enabling livestock and agricultural sector to introduce/export its selected products in the international market.
70 percent of the financial assistance is non-returnable portion, said co-ordinator Star Farm Project, Dr. Rafique-ur-Rehman while speaking at road shows organised by the agriculture department in Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara and Sialkot. These road shows were organised to create awareness amongst the livestock and agricultural farmers about the incentives being given by the provincial government under the project.
Dr. Rafique stated that the provincial government under this project would extend financial assistance of Rs445,000 per three farms (maximum 15 farmers) for capacity building, Rs100,000 per certification to achieve GlobalGAP and IFS certification, Rs200,000 for GlobalGAP infrastructure per farm and Rs100,000 to get barcode and logo fee for products to be exported.
