Workshop on efficient irrigation system held for farmers

Peshawar : A three-day training on ‘Irrigation and Efficient Irrigation System’ for the farmers of FR Peshawar on Wednesday kicked off at the University of Agriculture.
The training being organised by P&D Dept, University of Agriculture, Peshawar. Hussain Zada, Secretary Agriculture, Livestock and Cooperatives, Govt of KPK inaugurated the training session, in which VC, University of Agriculture Prof Dr Afzal, Syed Ishtiaq, Member of University Senate/MPA, and Director General of Agriculture Research, Extension and Registrar of Cooperatives.
The purpose of the training workshop is to educate the farmers of Frontier Region Peshawar by providing them practical knowledge and demonstration and irrigation. Furthermore, the farmers will be visiting the University Dairy Farm to learning about Livestock Management.
Secretary Agriculture welcomed the participants and briefly explained the policy guidelines of Agriculture of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He also heard the views of the participants of FR Peshawar and assured them to solve their problems regarding water scarcity.
Professor Dr Muhammad Afzal, Vice Chancellor, The University of Agriculture, Peshawar while expressing his views, welcomed all participants to this 03 days training and assured them that they will be provided all the facilities on the Campus including boarding lodging and refreshment.
The dignitaries were then given a guided tour of the different facilities around the campus of the University of Agriculture, Peshawar, including the Foreign Faculty Guest House, Library, Main Auditorium, Laboratories, Dairy Farm, Veterinary Hospital and the Feed Mill.
A presentation was also delivered that elaborated on the University ranking, research achievements, development projects, students’ activities and outreach activities.
The visiting delegation applauded the University’s achievements and promised to provide all out support for the growth and development of the University of Agriculture, Peshawar.
